International Conference «HEAVY BLACK SEA 2011»

We are pleased to announce the first international conference «HEAVY BLACK SEA» was held on May, 11, 2011, Congress-center ABRAU DURSO.

Black Sea region has been handling more and more heavy and out of gauge cargoes. Mostly this is explained by preparation for the Winter Olympics in Sochi (2014), construction of wind generating capacities in Ukraine, building of new power stations in Russia, Turkey and Bulgaria, as well as implementation of various significant pipeline, oil and gas projects.

Moreover, heavy transportation in Black Sea is rather chaotic; it faces a number of bureaucratic, transport and other problems. It is worth mentioning insufficient awareness of services rendered by local companies and ports.

The conference is aimed at finding better solutions for heavy transportation in Black Sea region and developing communication between transport and logistics companies.

You are welcome to discuss the following key issues:

  • Economic and infrastructure background of heavy-lift cargo shipment in Black Sea region: intermodal strategy;
  • How to develop competition in the region?
  • Using of inland waterways for attracting transit flows of heavy transport towards Caspian Sea.

We have invited the leading energy, oil and gas, machine building, chemical and engineering companies of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and EU to our event.

Our conference will take place in Congress-center ABRAU DURSO in the resort suburb of Novorossiysk:

19, Promyshlennaya St, Abrau Durso, Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Region, 353995

The village of Abrau Durso – the former tsar’s estate – is located 14km to the West of Novorossiysk at Abrau Lake. It is often called Russian Switzerland due to all its beauties. The village is the home for the largest and oldest Russian manufacturer of sparkling wines «Abrau-Durso» which uses classical technology of champagnization. Our attendees are welcome to enjoy a guiding tour in this champagne plant on 11th May.

Website of the plant – http://www.abraudurso.ru

How to reach the venue:

  • From airports: 1 hour from Gelendzhik; 3 hours from Krasnodar (direct flights from Vienna and Istanbul);
  • From Novorossiysk Railway station: 30 minutes

We can recommend you to stay at CHAMPAGNE SPA hotel «Imperial» in Abrau-Durso. It is the first so-called wine hotel in Russia. All rooms are designed in accordance with French Provence style. Altogether there are 40 rooms in this hotel.

Still, if you like to stay in Novorossiysk we can recommend 3-star hotel «Novorossiysk». It will take 30 minutes to reach the venue from there.
