International Conference
«Heavy Iraq 2019»

We invite you to visit the I international conference Heavy Iraq, December 6, 2019, Istanbul (Turkey), NOVOTEL Istanbul Bosphorus. The conference is devoted to the logistics of oversized, heavy and project cargo in Iraq.

Iraq is one of the most promising regions in the world for increasing oil production due to the huge reserves of traditional hydrocarbons. According to the estimates of the consulting company Wood Mackenzie Ltd, by 2025 Iraq will be able to pump 6 million barrels of oil daily, while in the next 6 years oil production in the country will grow at a rate exceeding similar indicators of all countries, except the United States.

Since 2011 Iraq has faced serious political and economic problems that have impeded the country’s economic development. Nevertheless, today, according to experts, there is reason for some optimism, as in 2018, GDP began to grow again, increasing by 1.5%. Foreign direct investment after the fall (from $4.1 billion in 2014 to $1.8 billion in 2017) began to gradually return.
So the Russian oil company LUKOIL until 2035 can invest in oil projects in Iraq about $45 billion. General Electric (GE) has signed contracts for $1 billion for the modernization of the country’s electricity infrastructure. These projects confirm the growing interest of investors in the region and will require the delivery of various oversized equipment. At the Heavy Iraq conference we will discuss all the nuances of logistics in this region.

Among the Conference topics:

  • state of transport infrastructure (ports, roads, bridges)
  • possibility of transportation of project cargo by the rivers of Iraq
  • experience in transportation of project cargo to Iraq
  • risks of working in Iraq for logistics companies
  • availability of specialized equipment for transportation and installation of project cargo

Participation in the conference provides a unique opportunity to get practical information about the latest trends in the project transportation market in Iraq, listen to the recommendations of experts, leading analysts, representatives of the executive power. We invite you to participate in the discussion of the announced topics!
