China General Nuclear reaches new highs

As the representatives of CGN announced, they finally managed to win the deal with the Malaysian company Edra. The Chinese giant will now be accountable for the stake and further development of their facilities in different parts of the globe. The plants are situated in several countries:

  • Southeast Asia (7 plants)
  • Bangladesh (3 plants)
  • Egypt (3 plants).

The total number of plants is 13. The majority of facilities are powered by the natural gas, while just one burns coal. The total capacity of the plants exceeds 6.5 million kilowatts.

Another achievement of China General Nuclear is the agreement signed with the power company from Romania. They were selected for the financing, building, and operating of 2 new units of the nuclear plant in Cernavoda. The Chinese company has been involved in the project in the region since 2010. After a new agreement, they will be accountable for the 3rd and 4th units.
