Dresser-Rand is ready to supply gas turbine generators to the gas field in Zohr. Zohr is in Egypt: at the moment it needs very much support from the technical equipment. Generators have a fairly large weight, about 84 tons, the delivery will be made to the territory of Egypt at a distance of about 200 kilometers from the coast. As for the cost of this order, according to the information provided, it will amount to several tens of millions of Euros – such information was provided by the parent company Dresser Rand.

More about the Zohr field: Dresser Rand cooperates with deposits

Zohr is the largest gas field on the shelf of the Mediterranean Sea. The deposit is located off the coast of Egypt. It was discovered by the Italian company Eni. As indicated in the company’s press release, the field potentially contains up to 30 trillion cubic feet (850 billion cubic meters) of gas on an area of about 100 square kilometers. That amount of energy approximately corresponds to 5.5 billion barrels of oil. Eni officially announced this on Sunday August 30, 2015. At the end of January 2016, the company corrected the forecast to 453 billion.

The gas content is associated with the Miocene sediments.

Response to Supply Sgt

Last year the Dresser Rand company delivered parts for the power plant. The total cost of spare parts was about one billion Euros. The new order will ensure the guarantee of the development of electricity production, support the country with respect to the developing economy and help expand energy supply. The CEO of the company said that, in addition to delivery, a package of services would be provided. This package of services will include the supply of spare parts on site, as well as maintenance of machinery. The planned date for the beginning of cooperation is the beginning of 2017.
