The need to save natural resources forces most states to search for alternative sources of electricity. One of these sources is wind coil steel energy, with the help of which it is possible to produce electrical energy in amounts sufficient to meet the needs of both residential consumers and industrial enterprises. The basis of the design for generating electricity from the wind is a generator mounted on the mast. Offshore wind power plants require higher towers and more massive foundations but salt water threatens the corrosion of metal structures. In all respects, sea windmills are much more expensive than land analogs. True, they have an important advantage – they have greater efficiency due to regular sea winds. But this does not affect the high cost of building marine structures.

European standards

The Europeans are trying to bring to profitability even offshore farms with wind devices. Investors decided that by the years 2024-2025, it would be profitable to build even without government money. True, this is still theoretical plans that provide for the installation of wind generators of 13 and 15 MW, but there are no such plans yet. Now the largest turbine has a capacity of only 8 MW. But German investors expect that in a few years the manufacturers – Siemens Gamesa & MHI Vestas Offshore Wind – are going to produce the required equipment.

Despite the fact that wind turbines are a promising way to generate electricity, there are many problems associated with their operation. In particular, in European countries where wind power is actively introduced, many people complain about the discomfort caused by close proximity to wind turbines.

The problems are caused by the fact that the full-scale use of wind energy began relatively recently. Powerful wind turbines have not previously been used. Therefore, their full impact on humans has not been studied. Laws are currently being drafted to minimize discomfort from the operation of these mechanisms. New wind power projects supplied electricity at about 160 Euros per megawatt-hour, and the industry representatives set a “realistic long-term goal” to reduce energy costs to 100 Euros per megawatt-hour by 2020. So, according to him, this goal has already been achieved.
